King Charles has publicly expressed his full support for his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, following the Duchess of Cambridge’s revelation in a video that she underwent surgery for cancer in January and started preventative chemotherapy. Charles, who is battling bladder cancer diagnosed in February, said he is “proud of Catherine’s bravery in discussing her illness.” His words were relayed through a Buckingham Palace spokesperson.
“Charles has been in regular communication with his beloved daughter-in-law in recent weeks,” reveals the spokesperson. Both Charles and his consort, Queen Camilla, “will continue to offer their unwavering love and support to the entire family during this challenging time.”
Both King Charles and Princess Kate were admitted and undertaken surgery at the London Clinic, where investigations are currently underway since three staff members tried to access Kate’s medical record, breaching confidentiality. Until recently, precise details of Kate’s health conditions were unknown. It was only known that she had undergone abdominal surgery requiring extended convalescence until Easter. However, now we also know that she was operated on for what turned out to be cancer following post-operative tests.
